The Challenge

The road ahead appears to be like this. There is still no match for Microsoft so far as reaching out to a computer illiterate is seen. Till that point, Linux is always under challenge from the comfort factor, upgraded every time by Microsoft. The next front comes to the big corporations who need to cut down their costs in order to compete with the market forces. This means that the Linux shall always find some backers till it keeps its efficiency levels high. The real playing ground is somewhere in the middle. This is the ground or zone of learning where the things really shape up. One of them has to focus at this area. If you really wish to challenge the monopoly of Microsoft then, tap the young- formula is the key. Linux learning is scarce, and it is pathetically limited to reactionary communities who are basically working with pre-set direction. If some part of this effort both money and manpower is channelled to open Linux learning centre, in countries like India and China. Then one can really see Microsoft sweating for its money. The key to this if there is special focus to language ability. That is programming in native languages such as Hindi in the case of India, or Mandarin in the case of China.

The Flat Earth? or a Fatigued One

I had just finished Friedman's colossal dream villa of flat earth imagined as a converging node of all waves and signals more geographically focussed to the US and its hegemony. And, to this humble service it finds India a most suitable choice of manpower who could be taken into its specific tasks that it needs to face the converngence of Russia, China or for that matter any possible combination of societal and popular imaginations and energies that it can thwart or so. The bigggest feeling is already conspicuous on the agenda of global warming and here it also finds India as suitable ally in shouldering most of it's resposibilities in this regard. The notion that technology is the sole saviour of the earth's burnt and bruised face, is just hypothetical just as any virtue, one can talk of. But, how this technology is going to be adapted and what are theosts of transition and who is going to bear it are the real social and political questions that one really has to take care of.
Friedman has taken too much optimistic attitude in this book called the World is Flat. There is no problem with the attitude but the real question is how and what are the texture of this flat earth. What constitutes this flatness for the people. Are the time-space gap transitions really sum up the whole thing as flat. Or, if there is so linear momentum of social and political relations across the territories that one can see that there is really flat earth more homogenised in is behaviour or communication. Truly, he is more convenient in proposition for he opts to ignore the frictional drags that are more prevalent than ever before. The heightening of state rowdiness and the flaring of communal and fundamentalist sentiments in democracies is an opposite indicator to this flat notion. And, no community would allow it self to be routed by such anarchical order of the middle ages.

The Pain

The Pain
You would sometimes recall the worst wrenching of your knee or arm that send you convulsive feeling. And, how despicable those moments are when your organic self is just apart and against you. That's how pain could be defined as! Well! it could be a fear, a vengeance or even a placid sorrow for one. But, have you ever been to something called pain that unswervingly holds you in agony but not in repression, a pain that put you down to floor but with a resolve to get up again.
Some of the worst situations of resoluteness occur when there is a definite degree of back pain caused by slip disk. This particular failure of spinal strength has lot short term socio-psycho and long-term emotional effects during its whole process of recovery. Spine is something which we use in phrase to address the basic orientation of one’s personality. It is something that one endures to embark upon for all his strength of character. And , the spineless people are always been held low in esteem when one castigates a critical remark. These attributions to spine make one look in subtle subsuming to natural demotion of one’s life and energy that has some how inadvertently occurred. But, let us also say that those who have survived this critical test have enormous cushion to their personality and they have almost found a new mantra about the ergonomics of living. They seem to embark there upon for most of their time in conservation of energies that keep them efficient in behaviour. Such, are the criticalities of the slip disk.
The pain becomes a coach to day to day living and those who beside abstinence from pain killers are perhaps its best students. It teaches how to control locomotion as if hitherto decade full of ignorant operating of body is suddenly made to act in consonance with life and soul. This painful cognition of self though the least desired occur to many who had long crossed the alley of life without much after thought and then there is sudden break as if time has come to boot strap second stage of life with new preparedness.

The Killing Spree

Israel's tirade against Hijbollah could be understood, but its wanton destruction of Lebanon's social life is totally unjustified. They are working towards a total destruction of stabilizing factors of the Middle East and that would cost them dear. There is whole lot of dissatisfaction in rest of the world, not to speak of Israel's neighbours. Any cynic might be instigated to some drastic step like that of 9/11 at this point of time. This fear of increased insecurity would only lead to more and more aggression as the only means of security by Israel. This is the harbinger to the Third World War. A war that would be most unusual of its kind. The war not among the nations only. But a war between peoples around every nook and corner of the globe with rich and poor elite and vagabond all in the quagmire of this kind of destruction. No one would be able to find enemy. As, the societies, countries and continents would be split apart from the pressures of legitimising the unjust and attrocious actions. Everywhere nowdays the state is relinquishing its duty of maintaining the social order, and who knows, the time has come for THE END OF THE STATE.

The Unusual Shock

Life has many ups and downs. Struggles make it beautiful just as a smile following a frown. But, which struggles make life beautiful? Yes! this is the key question. Those struggles that are part of one's goals and objectives in life. These are the struggles by choice. They are pursued for they are the most needed ones. No body thinks of avoiding them, they are thought of each day with more determination and pledge that one is committed to wade through. The struggles that come with the fallibility of mind, with the error of judgement, passion for certain things, betrayal of trust, on account of ignominy are usually unacceptable to one's mind. They are very much there and one has no choice but to face them with patience and wit. The shocking aspect of this struggle is that one's walking into these traps with clear conscience and noble heart. This killer of one's personality and emotion has far reaching effect over one's future prospects of leading a normal life. He may at best recuperate from the damage but throughout his life he seems to living on restraints and advise. Human relationships there are an abode of insecurity for the very reasons they should have given protection to us. And, thus the end of the self begins. As, one tries to end the history of his life, one goes into oblivion living permanently into a position that is most uncared for. Looking for a way out by someone's help!

The Good and the Bad

The work is very unique form of self-cognizance. If, you are a professional, then there is a creeping sense of alienation in your mind that renders you a secular perspective. This is very vital to help judge various process and objects that come to your way. This is also very helpful in other letting you know by the most consistent variable. But, how it changes when this secular built bursts out like a water bubble when the same alienation turns into a lonesome journey. The very idea of getting into a submarine of narcism that would never come out keeping you gaping for air. As the moment approaches closer to you, you suddenly want to jump out of your bogey of professionalism. Here, where the bads are born. They are adjectival bads, the bads you need to live your life full to the brim, the bad whom you expect to relieve from the morosity of life. The bad then finally melts down into the feeling of joy till it gets a satiating stretch in your mind. Finally, the time arrives to judge it, and you find that again the good has come upto you again, and you are once agian ready to go down with your submarine into the sea of value judgements.

Three types of women that I love

I had been one of most uneasy person with my relationship with woman. Be her my mom, sister or wife, perhaps the closest of my acquaintance. Then they do constitute the most known types. Somehow, it may look a sadistic approach to woman as gender. But, I have always had a desiredness of abandonment of whatever love quest, I had come across. And, this disenchantment from the woman has always being a cramp to my life. It's not that I am some Casanova, but one specialty that I endure about my self is that I get closer to woman deep through her eyes just like a mesmeric feel when seeing through the eyes of a black snake.
This, is the first type of woman that I love to see often and again. She is dark complexion, with copper like tan skin. She has hard looks and healthy gaze at the things around her.
The second type of woman is the one who is hard core professional and like life to be lived in some kind of philosophy. She has every complementariness to my professional side.
The third type of woman is the one who makes the best of the bedtime. She has all consummation for the orgies that renders sex as alien identity when single objective lay as a common soul.
Having said that, and that too whilst staying married sounds quite revisionist. Well! not really intend to see things right on the ground where I stand, but they certainly could be a part of the rainbow that sometimes comes across to one's life. And, I am sure you agree that, rain is felt best if it winds up with a rainbow rather than a dawn that reminds us of a uncomfortable passage of night.

The Indian Character

Recently I have been in a grip of uneasy state of mind. My friend has had a tiff with a colleague at her workplace. Now, that chap keeps on stalking her with an aim to spoil her research work. This chap is of an average academic quality and somehow has managed to get into the good books of the boss. He wants that she should not be able to get ahead of him. A typical male jealousy as well as also a bitter truth about his incompetence.
Her boss is equally a fat headed lady, who hardly has any academic aptitude and only sees the matter with utlitarian interest. She has no academic profile worth recognition and just mad about her jewellry and daily new sarees. She is infact the real incompetent figure, who only needs the flatters around her.
If you look into various sculptures and mouments of Indian temples, there are man and woman relationship depicted in such symbolic forms, and there is profound attitudinal similarity with those elucidated here above.

Course on Afghanistan

My experience with teaching a coursework on Afghanistan has been quite refreshing. I had to venture in those areas which are considered rather unconventional for a geographer. I had took up the issues of ethnicity and conflict in the region and worked out the social system modules in which these relations lie. This has been very informative and learning experience for me. I have also been able to have a good repository of articles database that I find handy while referencing my work.
But, I feel that area studies apart from what they have become as territorial studies de facto, should conisder to venture into those areas or phenomenon, which are trans-boundary in their impact. This not only brings into focus the geographical forces, but also the nations and their polity in the geopolitical environment. Documentation of foreign policy and history of relations is only one part of the story. The real objective of any area studies research shold be to provide across the board analysis of various segments of a part of political landscape, defined as, the nation. In this, one must consider the dynamics of people's moving around the nations and their in carrying these influences to a signficant stage.

Life and the Estranged Self

It happens that sometimes the whole load of relationship goes off the mind, just a memory wipe out. And, the alienation is a state of inebriation with an estranged self that keeps occluded pressures of daily life. A new taste of same banality that is suddenly transformed in relishing moment. How does the morose things turn into the sticky skin embodying the self? This can only be perhaps seen as the pressures from day to day material life. But, more from the fact the appreciation of the very same matter is different for the two individuals who do not wish to subscribe to each other's understanding. The individualism has nothing to do it, here.
The fact is that value systems that individual inherits from one's social ecumene and cultural traits are the real forces that drive the serious discordants between the two. And, the effort to get something new out of it becomes a herculean task. The only answer left it to detach this self, which is no longer the individual self, but individual identity of social self. And, the tragedy is something similar to the Nutty Professor, inflating beyond proportions before bursting under the stress. One, only hopes to enjoy the thick filthy falbby self that is more personalised more lonesome and more detached to any sense of past personality cults.

Resolving Nepal Crisis

The situation in Nepal can only be rendered solvent from the perspective of the parties engaged: the King Gyanendra, Nepali Congress, Maoists and the Nepalese army. At the moment, the king and the army are together against unusual cobbling of seven party alliance (SPA) plus the maoists. The offer made was no newer trick to split the ranks, but the king has failed to recekon this time that the situation has gone far his petty maneuvres.
There is need to have a stable transition process so as the king is assured of his stakes in Nepal nation-society and the people's aspiration are carefully weaned off any militant characteristics that are potentially dangerous for the neighbourhood. The demands a peace process along the lines of BONN AGREEMENT. The Bonn Agreement can serve as model to step by step transition to democracy, in which the king to can be party to constitution formulation. No doubt, avoiding any electoral process cannot be the solution. Hence, people and the king should come to a set up where the constitutional dialogue can be initiated. There is need to carefully condition this process externally. SAARC can be the appropriate platform, where India and Pakistan can take the lead with China and the US as strategic players, which they are in any case.
